Welcome to Term 3, 2016.
Fractured Fairy Tales
On Wednesday 24th August Holy Cross Catholic School held its Annual School Concert, Fractured Fairy Tales. What a magnificent night. I would like to thank the staff and students for preparing such a polished display. A lot of effort and organisation goes into producing such a performance. Thank you to the mums, dads, grandparents and family members for assiting with costumes and props. The stage looked fantastic. Finally, thank you to the Parents & Friends Association for organising the raffle. With their efforts, nearly $2000 was raised.
Father’s Day Cards Bunnings
The weekend just passed a number of families and students sold Holy Cross Father’s Day Cards at Bunnings Wallsend. Nearly 200 were sold over the 2 days with proceeds going directly to Holy Cross. Mrs Skovgaard who co-ordinated the weekend was amazed at the confidence and manners our students displayed. There were numerous positive comments from the general public about our students. I would like to thank Dee, Bella , Mia, Chelsea, Sophie, Riley, Chase & Max for spending some of their weekend representing Holy Cross so proudly.

We would like to be able to reach out to each other to reach through the barriers with which we surround ourselves, of being vulnerable, or rejected.
We would like to have the courage to break through to others and to each other, when we need it.
Lord, we are asking you to be among us, to show us the way, to help us recognize our direction, to have us wait on your will and not upon our own or others’ expectations, to help us remain sensitive to each other’s’ needs, so that when we are strong we may dare to give and that when we are weak we may be able to share our need and not to fear to receive . . . . .
Lord, may we become an open, welcoming community, may others find us genuine and loving, and others share our job; and may they feel safe to share with us their riches.
We use the Skoolbag App to keep in touch with our families. Newsletters, notes and class information is regularly sent out on this convenient app.
