It is now school holidays! School resumes Tuesday 26th April.
Fun Run /Cross Country Running Festival
Last Friday, Holy Cross was blessed with favourable weather conditions to hold our Fun Run/Cross Country running festival. Fun-filled days such as these do not run efficiently without the help of many. Thank you to: students for participating so enthusiastically in the many events held throughout the day; parents who assisted as marshals or cheer squad; families who joined in the picnic lunch, parents and friends who coordinated the canteen & Holy Cross staff who coordinated the many events. A final thank you to Heidi Murray from Credit Union Australia for volunteering her time as an official. 3 years ago Holy Cross was awarded a $1000 grant from CUA which assisted in the purchasing of the Lenova Tablets for use in I.C.T.
It would be appreciated if all Fun Run sponsorship money is returned to school by Friday 8th April

21st Century Learning at Holy Cross.
Our staff at Holy Cross are aware of the new approaches to learning that need to be undertaken to ensure that our students receive an education that challenges them and prepares them for the world they will become part of. Holy Cross has successfully trialled BYOD throughout 2015 in Stage 3 and will continue to develop BYOD in 2016. The CSO project to make the whole school wireless is now complete. The important component is not the device but how the device is being used to promote learning. Your child's teacher will communicate with you if a device will be needed throughout the year. There is no need to rush out and buy a device as it is most likely a device you have already will suffice when needed.
We use the Skoolbag App to keep in touch with our families. Newsletters, notes and class information is regularly sent out on this convenient app.
We would like to be able to reach out to each other to reach through the barriers with which we surround ourselves, of being vulnerable, or rejected.
We would like to have the courage to break through to others and to each other, when we need it.
Lord, we are asking you to be among us, to show us the way, to help us recognize our direction, to have us wait on your will and not upon our own or others’ expectations, to help us remain sensitive to each other’s’ needs, so that when we are strong we may dare to give and that when we are weak we may be able to share our need and not to fear to receive . . . . .
Lord, may we become an open, welcoming community, may others find us genuine and loving, and others share our job; and may they feel safe to share with us their riches.
Lights, camera, action!
Holy Cross Catholic School was a hub of excitement late last term as a series of Television commercials were filmed on site. The advertisements hoped to be aired from May.
